Friendly Neighbours

Blacknest Woodlands is teaming with wildlife and our specialists will help you identify not only the insects that live on the land, in the trees or the pond but also  birds who eat them.

We also have many families of rabbits who like to play on the grass and many of them seem unafraid of humans as they only move away when you get really close. Another regular visitor is this young male deer (called a buck) who often stops by the house for a snack and sometimes you can see a female (known as a doe or hind) with her two babies who were born earlier this year but if you make a noise they gallop away very quickly.

Evening brings out foxes and owls but, by then, you will be safely back home telling stories about your personal adventures in the woods at Blacknest.
